IT Career Fair
On September 28th, the Fox School’s Department of Management Information Systems hosted its IT Career Fair. Different from the school-wide Fox Fall Connection, this annual event is specifically for students who participate in programs affiliated with the MIS department. 31 companies of different size and industry attended, looking to get to know the next generation of top talent who possess a strong foundation in both business and technology. For students, it was a wonderful opportunity to network and learn of opportunities that exist in the IT field. Surely many students made that connection and strong first impression that will help them to land an internship or full-time position. Once again, the event was a tremendous success.
Recruiter Panel Workshop
On September 23 rd , AIS hosted its second Professional Development workshop of the semester, an “Inside the Mind of a Recruiter” panel discussion. Charmaine Curtis from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sammi Soriano from Ernst & Young, Nancy Hornberger from Wells Fargo, and Kathryne Miecyjak from Cigna participated in the discussion. Topics ranged from finding employment opportunities, perfecting one’s resume, impressing at career fairs, and practicing interviewing skills. AIS members were able to ask the recruiters their questions in an open Q&A session and network with the recruiters once the panel had concluded. The workshop was a great opportunity for our members to hear some tips and tricks from the people who ultimately decide their employment fates.
