On October 21s, Cliff Tironi held his second Technical Development Application Program (TDAP) workshop for AIS, focusing on analyzing data using Microsoft’s PowerBI. Cliff took a hands-on approach to the workshop by providing a sample dataset so that students could follow along with his demonstrations to better understand the software. Attendees learned how to import data from Excel, create data visualizations, and analyze reports through interactive dashboards. With Temple University’s Analytics Challenge deadline quickly approaching, Cliff’s workshop not only introduced a relatively-new software to students, but helped establish fundamentals for creating visuals such as size, color, and labels. Microsoft PowerBI is available free for students either through a Windows application or through its online client – just sign in with your AccessNet credentials!
